Art Guild displays students’ work at local shop

There are many things people have come to expect when walking into Weiser Classic Candy in downtown Weiser. 
 In addition to a bag full of some of the best candy in the region, patrons are now afforded the opportunity to walk away with a greater appreciation for student art.
 Beginning this month, the Four County Art Guild began showcasing student art on a wall inside the shop that owner Patrick Nauman generously designated for just that purpose.

Cathy and I had planned on going camping one last time this last weekend. Well, you know what the weather was like, so we revised our plans. It wasn’t as much fun as camping, but it was more fun than sitting in a trailer in the rain.
 This week I thought I would write a little more in depth about the Community Health Academy, which was made available by the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation, that David Tate and I attended.  

HARVEST BAZAAR

 THE ONTARIO COMMUNITY CHURCH WILL BE HOLDING A HARVEST BAZAAR ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2022 FROM NOON TO 3 PM.

AUCTION STARTS AT 2 PM AND THERE WILL BE GAMES FOR CHILDREN,CRAFTS AND GIFTS.

Shamrock Club Harvest Dinner

The Shamrock Club will be hosting their annual Harvest Dinner on November 6th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be held at the historic Jeffrey's School House 1818 Weiser River Rd. All proceeds go toward maintaining the 112 year old building. 

Meals include roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls and homemade pies. Whole pies will also be available for sale. Take out will be available.

Adults $12, kids 6-12 $6, 5 and under are free.

Weiser Trunk or Treat

The second annual Trunk or Treat will also take place on Oct. 31 at the Weiser High School parking lot where people hand out treats from the trunks of their cars, providing a fun and safe environment for adults and kids alike. Last year was a great success, hundreds of people lining up along the row of parked cars. Individuals are encouraged to bring a candy-loaded car, but candy donations can be made at any of the event sponsors, including Weiser Christian Church, Weiser Church of the Nazarene, Weiser Chamber of Commerce, or Living in the News.

Howl-o-Ween

The Howl-o-Ween Pet Costume Contest is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park in Weiser. The event, in affiliation with St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and sponsored by Marbella, is a fundraiser led by CASPR (Canines And Special Pet Rehoming) and Felines Needing Purrfect Homes to benefit a future, and much-needed, Washington County dog and cat shelter.
