 The Weiser Community Church will have a Harvest Carnival on Wednesday Oct. 12 from 6-8 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Come enjoy hot dogs, candy, games, bouncy house and prizes.

WMH district volleyball this week

The 2022 SRV District Volleyball Tournament is underway this week, with Weiser hosting two games, both on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Holiday Arts and Crafts Show

 
 The annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show sponsored by the Four County Art Guild and Friends of the Library will be held Nov. 4 and 5 at the Vendome Events Center. Friday the show will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHS boys' soccer team to play for District Championship

The Weiser boys' soccer team beat Fruitland 3-2 in it's first match of district play last night, Oct. 11.

The Wolverines (3-2) will now play for the SRV District Championship against the Vandals (7-0) in McCall tomorrow night, Thursday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m.

Barrett Tetlow to speak on Oct. 13

 
 Barrett Tetlow, third vice chair for District 23, will speak on “The Blueprint; How the Dems Won Colorado” on Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Snake River Heritage Museum. Everyone is welcome.

 Good weather and smiling faces contributed to a successful 11th annual Angel Wings Network Walk/Run fundraiser that brought in approximately $24,000 for the organization’s programs and services.

Love INC returns from national convention very thankful

It’s easy to think you have it bad until you hear of someone who has it worse.
 That seems natural; and may have been how Love INC (In the Name of Christ) of Washington County Executive Director, Pam Burris, felt when she met Susan Wekesa of Nairobi, Kenya, Africa.
 Wekesa sits on the board of an affiliate Love INC in Nairobi.
 Burris and Wekesa crossed paths at a Love INC national conference held a few weeks ago in Chicago. It was just by chance that the two met and shared an interesting discussion.

Being a first responder or part of a medical staff can be a double-edged sword: you get to help others, often in emergency situations, but the job can sometimes be thankless.
 It can be assumed that receiving expressions of gratitude is not why law enforcement, doctors, EMTs, nurses, and others choose their particular line of work, but it must help with morale when they do get it.
 “I just want to say that they went above and beyond,” said Diana Oxnam, an employee of Weiser Memorial Hospital who has had two hip replacements over the last three years.

ITD approves 2023-29 road and bridge plan

Another meeting involving
the Idaho Transportation Department approved its draft FY2023-2029 Idaho Transportation Investment Program plan on Thursday, Sept. 22 during its monthly meeting in Boise.
 The plan provides $6.5 billion for projects across the state over the next seven years. It will be submitted to the Federal Highway and Federal Transit administrations in November, with final approval anticipated in December.
