Clarification: Little Theater was St. Agnes Catholic Church in 1899

In the Signal American’s April 19 issue, a story about an effort to revive a military veterans group in Weiser ultimately led to a brief history of the Weiser Little Theater, located at 405 E. Second St.
 The story noted that the building, previously owned by the LDS church, was sold to the American Legion in 1940.

Well, spring finally arrived in a burst of warmth. My tulips are finally blooming. Now I’m just hoping that I can stay up with the yard work and projects I’ve been wanting to do. Please wish me luck!
 On Saturday, the Weiser Public Library was treated to a “Space Shuttle Mission” led by none other than Barbara Morgan, the first Teacher in Space. 

Washington County Rodent Board to meet

 The Washington County Rodent Board will hold its regular bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 9, at 4 p.m. at the Washington County Weed Dept., located at 1118 E. Court Street. The public is welcome to attend.

Fundraiser for mission to Honduras

 The Weiser Wide Mission to Honduras Team is having an enchilada bar and silent auction fundraiser on Sunday, May 7, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Weiser Community Church. The cost is a donation of your choice and the enchiladas are authentic Mexican. All proceeds go to the Weiser Wide Honduras Mission team to bless a single mom with children with a new 14’ x 20’ house in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. We hope to see you there. St. Agnes to host ‘Igniting the Light of Christ within You’

 St. Agnes Catholic Church, at 204 E. Liberty St., invites the public to participate in a Parish Mission: “Igniting the Light of Christ within You,’ with Catholic inspirational speaker and musician Paul Koleske May 6-8. He will speak and sing at both English weekend masses, on Saturday, May 6 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 7 at 9 a.m. He will also preach on Sunday evening (May 7) at 6:30 p.m. and Monday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the church. All are welcome.

Summer fun open house at Weiser Public Library

 Come to the Weiser Public Library on Friday, May 5, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. to sign up for summer reading.  Along with sign-ups, there will be Bingo, prizes, snacks and crafts. While you’re there, check out all of the other activities coming this summer to participate in.
