Rep. Women meet candidates

The Washington County Federation of Republican Women will be holding a series of meetings for Idaho Legislative candidates, as well as candidates running for positions within Washington County.
“These will be informal meet and greets to allow our community to come to have a meal and visit with the candidates in a small group environment,” said WCFRW’s Margaret Jensen in an email. “There will be no pre-organized questions, come ask what is on your heart.”
The Washington County Federation of Republican Women is an official branch of the Republican Party and is referred to as the Education Branch of the party. Until recently, the State President held a voting position on the State GOP along with the President of the Young Republicans and the College Republicans,” according to Jensen.
“We do not make any official endorsements or support of candidates,” she said. “We just bring them in for these meet and greets so the community has an opportunity to meet them and decide who they want to support and vote for.”
All forums will take place at Idaho Pizza Company located at 17 W. Commercial St. in Weiser. Here is the schedule:
April 4 at 6:30 p.m.: Idaho House of Representatives, Dist. 9, seat B, John (Chris) Shirts; and Senate Legislative Dist. 9 candidate Scott Syme
