Good start to Wolverines’ 2025 golf season

Weiser’s Lady Wolverine golf started its season with a first place team win in a five full team competition at Rolling Hills Golf Course on Monday, March 17. The Wolverines shot a low 201 over the nine holes, and Weiser senior Lucy Hickey earned the day’s medalist title after scoring a low of 42.
 The Lady Wolverines shot 22 below second-place Ambrose, and 41 under third-place Homedale. The full results are as follows:
 Weiser, 201 - Hickey 42, Hannah Grace 44, Samantha Kingsbury 52, Avery Palmer 63 and Maddy Reagan 78.
 Ambrose, 223 - Ashley von Behren 44, Ella Sielaff 53, Ella McNichols 55, Mila Kesl 71.
 Homedale, 252 - Kennedy Kildow 55, Stella Heck 61, McKenna Murray 68, and Eva Larsen 68.
 Parma, 282 - Ashton Brassfield 54, Juelia Pool 67, Lyndi Birch 81, and Clare Fendley 80.
 Nyssa, 296 - Sara Goldthorpe 69, Chelsy Pacheco 74, Izabel Cuevas 75, Esmerelda Diaz 78, and Sunny Grove 83.
 Cole Valley Christian’s individual competitors were Lexyss Bell, shooting a 51, and Jenny Jagosh 60.
 Spring sports often find a number of schedule changes crop up. A Tuesday match in Parma was rescheduled, and Weiser’s boys’ team opened their season on Wednesday at River Bend Golf Course in Homedale’s Icebreaker invitational 18-hole tournament.
 The Wolverines finished with a team score of 417. Senior and first year golfer Xander Grey shot Weiser’s low score of 92, followed by Charlie Nevarez 100, Mikey Odette 110, Brody Tucker 115, and Jaxon Higley 119.
