2024 Trunk or Treat to be held at Weiser Christian Church

Residents around Weiser have been prepping for Halloween, which is Thursday night. Many kids, dressed in their favorite costumes, will go house-to-house to collect candy from neighbors, but there are other options for families who want a more organized and safe option for their little ghouls and goblins. Read the story below for information about this year’s ‘Trunk or Treat’ and ‘Trick or Treat on State Street’ events. After many years at Weiser High School, the annual Trunk or Treat Halloween event will be held Thursday, Oct. 31 at the Weiser Christian Church parking lot, located on State Street just north of Bo’s Barn, from 5-7 p.m.
 Trunk set-up takes place at 4 p.m.
Traditionally dubbed “Trunk or Treat,” the much-anticipated event will be hosted by the Boys and Girls Club of Western Treasure Valley this year.
Children and their parents are invited to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes, and take advantage of free candy that will be distributed by volunteers from their car trunks or pickup beds.
The idea is to provide area kids with a safe alternative to going from house to house to collect the candy, keeping them off streets and out of harms way of traffic. Some homeowners do not participate in Halloween while others may be away on business, vacation or are simply out of town for the weekend.
In addition, it’s always good to know where the candy comes from and who is providing it.
Also on Oct. 31, the Weiser Chamber of Commerce, along with area businesses, is sponsoring “Trick or Treat on StateStreet” from 4-7 p.m. Although billed to take place on State Street, there are many participating businesses located around Weiser. The public is welcome and encouraged to come inside, take a look around and leave with some candy.
