Recovery centers changing lives

During a recent meeting brought to Weiser by Idaho’s Region 3 Behavioral Health Board the discussion centered around the effectiveness of recovery centers further down the valley, with a particular spotlight on success in Gem County. 
 A recovery center in Weiser could mean access to resources for people in Washington, Adams and Payette counties, as they recover from alcohol/drug addictions or mental health crisis, and allow them the needed time to fully heal.

Used book sale fundraiser

 The Four Rivers Healthy Community will have a used book sale fundraiser on March 15 at the Bee Hive, 8 East Idaho in Weiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. To donate books contact Kelly Poe at 208-230-0648.

St. Agnes Church St. Patrick’s Dinner

 St. Agnes Catholic Church will hold its annual St. Patrick’s Dinner on Sunday, March 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 214 E. Liberty St. They will be serving roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, and drinks, as well as homemade pies and desserts. Cost is $17 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for kids ages 5 to 10. Children under 5 eat free.

The Illustrious Onion Skin Players annual melodrama, “Hark! Woof at the Door or Rufus’s Revenge” will be presented March 14 with doors opening at 7 p.m. and a matinee March 15 with doors opening at 2 p.m. at the Historic Star Theater, 322 State Street in Weiser. Wendell Lawrence Ader

March 10, 2025 
 Wendell Lawrence Ader, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, went to be with the Lord peacefully on March 10, 2025. He was surrounded by loved ones. 
 He was born in March of 1944 in Council, Idaho, to Grant and Wanona Ader. 
 Wendell grew up in Midvale, Idaho where he was raised with the love of family, music, and hard ranch work. 

An explanation regarding the tariffs on imported goods

Dear Editor,
 There has been a lot of discussion in the media about tariffs on imported goods recently, much of it quite confusing, if not misleading, perhaps deliberately so. Let me try to make it a little clearer.

WHS presents Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

 Spending nearly two hours every morning before school in theater practice the past few weeks, Weiser High School students are getting ready to entertain friends, family, and musical theater fans with the 2025 production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. 
 Performances will play out four nights, March 12 through March 15, in the WHS auditorium, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., and the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online, and the $9 ticket price will be worth every penny.
