WSD trustees voice opposition to school vouchers

Armed with a resolution opposing school vouchers signed during their regular monthly meeting on Feb. 10, Weiser School District’s Board of Trustees attended the Idaho School Boards Association annual “Day on the Hill” in Boise on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 17 and 18.

Idaho Power refunds a ‘disastrous mess’ for rural schools

Wiggle room is rare in the Midvale school budget. Now, the district of less than 150 students must come up with an additional $86,309. 
 Washington County’s already cash-strapped rural schools are struggling to figure out how they will refund Idaho Power after the state supreme court ruled electric utilities previously overpaid on taxes.
 “It’s a disastrous mess and one that I personally don’t think the taxpayers should have to correct,” Midvale Superintendent KyLee Morris said.
