Lego Engineering

 Come and learn the exciting world of structures, dams, automobiles, prosthetics, and heavy machinery engineering at the University of Idaho Extension Washington County. Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday, March 4-25 from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. for ages 9-12. The cost is free. For more information call 208-414-0415.

Friends of the Library ‘Flock to the Library

 The Friends of the Library will host a fun fundraiser ‘Flock to the Library’ on March 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Weiser Train Depot. Items to be auctioned will be related to everything birds created by local artisans. Tickets are $10 which includes food from Gabi Saldivar and the Friends of the Library. Plan on attending and purchase a birdhouse or two for the little birdies in your yard.

Hillcrest Cemetery District to meet March 10

 The Hillcrest Cemetery Maintenance District will have their regular meeting on Monday, March 10, at 5 p.m. at the district office located at 215 E. Indianhead Road. The meeting is open to the public, and the meeting agenda will be posted at the cemetery district office. You are welcome to attend.

 Former Weiser, Idaho resident,  LaRay Burgess, 94,  passed away in Boise, Idaho on Feb. 12, 2025.  
 She was the best neighbor, a gifted bridge player, and treasured friend to many.  
 LaRay was also mother to Kent, Karla, and Richard. 
 She will be laid to rest with her husband, Dean, of 58 years at the Veterans Cemetery in Boise.

Weiser High School cheerleaders headed to state tourney

For the 17th year in a row, Weiser High School Cheerleaders are District Champions. The district championship and state qualifier took place on Feb. 8 at Meridian High School. Facing the toughest competition they have faced at the district level, the Wolverines earned the championship by placing first in Pom routine, third in Sideline routine, and first in All-Girl Show Cheer. The Wolverines are coached by Nicole Ramirez.
