Help prevent water lines from freezing with a trickle of water

Cathy and I had a pretty quiet week.  There were no grandsons visiting.  Christmas decorations have been taken down and stored for another year. It’s January.
 We did have a visit from my brother. He has been in construction all his life. We asked him to come by sometime to look at some fairly minor changes to our kitchen, steps, and back sidewalk. 
 As we talked, different ideas came out and Cathy got excited and intrigued. I’m afraid this could get rather expensive rather fast.  

Republican Central Committee Lincoln Day Banquet

 The Washington County Republican Central Committee Lincoln Day Banquet will be  held Friday, Jan. 26 at the Vendome Events Center. Guest speaker will be Darr Moon speaking on mining and minerals in Idaho. Social hour will start at 6 p.m. and dinner and program at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 and may be purchased from Ron Robbins at 208-739-1053 or any committee member.

 The Weiser School District will have an informational federal programs open house on Monday, Jan. 22 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the WHS Auxiliary gym.

Hillcrest Cemetery District commissioners to meet Jan. 22

 The Hillcrest Cemetery Maintenance District will have their regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 22, at 5 p.m. at the district office located at 215 E. Indianhead Rd. The meeting is open to the public, and the meeting agenda will be posted at the cemetery district office. You are welcome to attend.

St. Luke’s annual winter soup lunch

 St. Luke’s Episcopal Church annual winter soup lunch will start Thursday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. The lunch will run every Thursday until March 14. This is a free meal. Come in out of the cold and enjoy a nice bowl of hot soup and fellowship. 
 

Grief support group meets first and third Thursday

 A grief support group meets the first and third Thursdays of the month from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Guthberlet Hall, Church of the Redeemer located on the corner of East 1st and Liberty streets. For more info contact Pat Thompson at 208-405-5994.

Lesley Jeanne Simpson Cunningham

Lesley Jeanne Simpson Cunningham of Boise, Idaho passed away on Jan. 1, 2024 at the age of 71 and is now free of her battle with cancer.
 The youngest of three children, Lesley was born on Dec. 16, 1952 in Ephrata, Wash. to Jim and Kt Simpson.  
 Her family later moved to Weiser, Idaho, where her father purchased a small town newspaper.
