Dear Editor:

Einstein’s Parable of Quantum Insanity, “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result.”

In 1953, Ancil Keyes, PhD, postulated the cholesterol theory as the cause of heart disease. At the time heart disease was the number one killer of Americans.

About the same time, they found an anti-fungal drug, called a statin, would

lower cholesterol in humans. Doctors were quick to repurpose this drug to treat heart disease.

Too many doubts and concerns on vaccinations

Dear Editor:

I agree with the letter writer’s sentiment (“Vaccines should not have become politicized” published in the Nov. 22 issue of the Weiser Signal American), but disagree with the conclusions and sources specified.

I believe that getting vaccinated is an individual choice, and disagreed strongly with the mandates and other punitive measures previously implemented against those that chose not to be vaccinated.

Treasure Valley Heritage Symphony Christmas Concert

The Treasure Valley Heritage Symphony Christmas Concert will be held at the Four Rivers Cultural Center in Ontario on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and in Weiser on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Snake River Heritage Center. Both concerts are free to the public, but donations are encouraged. All proceeds will go directly to the HoHo Express and Angel Wings Network. We hope you can join us for Christmas in the Air!

ConservativesOf Washington County to present a legislative update

ConservativesOf Washington County, invites you to a “Legislative Update” Nov. 30 at 6 p.m at the Bee Tree Folk School in Weiser, You will be able to ask your legislative candidate and your present legislators questions for the next session and they will address our present issues for District 9 and for the state. Also, questions will be answered on the upcoming Presidential Caucus and Rank Choice Voting and the dangers RCV brings to the state. The public is welcome, bring your friends and neighbors.

BOISE – Following coverage last week of party affiliation deadlines for the Idaho Primary Election on May 21, 2024 Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane, Republican Party of Idaho Chairwoman Dorothy Moon, and Idaho Democratic Party Chairwoman Lauren Necochea remind voters of the distinction between the upcoming party caucuses in March (Republican) and May (Democratic), and the state primary election in May and the respective party affiliation deadlines.
