Winter Coat Drive and Coat Giveaway

 Donations needed for new or clean, gently-used winter coats (no hoodies, please).  All sizes for men, women, boys, girls and toddlers needed. A drop box is located at the Weiser Library or call Dorothy Evans at 208-549-5589. The coat giveaway will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church. A Love INC/St. Agnes Catholic Church fellowship.

P.E.O. Chapter T scholarship golf scramble

 P.E.O. Chapter T will host its annual golf scramble fundraising event at Rolling Hills Golf Course on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Rolling Hills Golf Course. St. Agnes Church September Fiesta to be held Sept. 16

 The Latino Community of St. Agnes Church invites everyone to the annual September Fiesta, on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Weiser City Park. A variety of Mexican foods will be offered, along with a baked food sale and a harvest table. Eat in the park or take-home. Entry is free and open to the public. Funds go to the support of the activities of the Latino Community of St. Agnes.

Elsie Mae Loos

Elsie Mae Loos went to be with her Lord and Savior Aug. 29, 2023. She was a life-long Christian who enjoyed singing in her brother’s church with her sisters.
 Mae was born in Missouri on July 13, 1941 to Otis and Gustdel Woods. The family later moved to Arkansas where they all worked in the cotton fields.
 Mae married at 15 and had a little boy named Ricky who passed away at three months old. Mae and her husband moved to Woodland, Calif. where two more children were born Anita and Danny.

County P&Z to hold rezone public hearing

The Washington County board of commissioners has scheduled a public hearing for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the Vendome Events Center located at 309 State St. in downtown Weiser.
 The purpose of the hearing is to consider a request by Catherine Pursifull to rezone her property, located at 1387 Highway 95, from A1 agricultural and D1 light industrial to D2 heavy industrial.
 All interested individuals are invited to attend the hearing to comment.  You can also submit written comment beforehand.
