Propositions get all the attention

Anyone who wants to brush up on the candidates and propositions for the Nov. 6 election can pick up a sample ballot in the county clerk’s office at the courthouse.

Frankly, I don’t think I’ll be in the voting booth for long on Nov. 6. The only contested races are for state offices and the Congressional District 1.

The two propositions on the ballot, along with the governor’s race, are attracting the most attention right now. They are fairly high-profile measures.

Hello, October. At our first supervisors meeting in October, our recreation director reported that fall youth soccer and football will be finishing up this next week and registration will begin for basketball. Where did the fall go!

In July we were informed that recycling would not be included in the county budget.

When I moved to Idaho 22 years ago, I found I had a lot to learn.

I had heard of WWAMI from Wyoming classmates in residency, but I never really understood it.

I have been amazed to learn of this longstanding cooperative relationship that keeps Idaho students connected to Idaho, increasing their likelihood of practicing here when they finish their training.

Coming back from my little trip

Last week I headed down to California to see my brother again. He lives on the central coast region, and his wife is an amazing cook and food writer. When I called a couple of weeks ago, all he could say was we need to make meat.

Melanie is not the barbecue type, so Ken was looking forward to my visit to fire up the smoker and bring on the wood flavors that it provides.
