Weiser Police Department responds to motorhome fire resulting in one fatality

Weiser, Idaho — At approximately 9:05 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, the Weiser Police Department, Weiser Rural Fire District, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a motorhome fire located near the intersection of Highway 95 and East Commercial Street in Weiser.
Upon arrival, first responders found the motorhome fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire; however, the incident resulted in one fatality. WPD will release the victim’s name this week, after his family members have been notified.
At this time, arson is not suspected. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office in coordination with the Weiser Police Department.
The scene has been secured, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
