Weiser always shows up big

Dear Editor:

 We just want to express our deepest appreciation to the community of Weiser for their support in raising awareness and funding for Choroideremia (CHM) a rare genetic eye disease that our son Carter has.

 On Saturday, Oct. 18, we held a 5K fun run/walk fundraiser and we were in awe of the support from the community. We had over 100 people attend. Along with those in attendance and those who couldn’t attend we raised over $10,000.  This money will go directly towards research to find a cure for CHM. 

 We extend special appreciation to all of the generous sponsors from Weiser’s business community, as well as to all of the very generous anonymous donors. And to the many, many volunteers who helped us make this day possible, and to our family, a special thank you. This day couldn’t have been possible without their love support. . 

 We are hoping to make this an annual event to help raise awareness and to continue in the fight for a cure!
