Rex Lyman Cox

Rex Lyman Cox, 79, of Weiser, Idaho, passed away Sept. 7, en route to St. Luke’s Meridian hospital. 
 Rex was born in Anthony, Kansas on March 22, 1939 to Ruby (Boone) and Lyman Cox. 
 Rex graduated from Huntington High School in 1957 where he lettered in three sports, was active in the drama club, and part of the Naval Reserves. 
 After high school Rex entered the U.S. Navy where he served 26 years. While serving in Japan he met and married Kazuko (Kiyono) Cox, and they had two children Roger and Sandra. 
 Once Rex retired from the Navy in San Diego, Ca., he went back to school to get his college degree. 
 Rex and Kazuko then retired to Weiser, Idaho in the 1990s. 
 Rex remarried and is survived by his wife Nancy (Seeley) Cox. His son Roger Anthony Cox (San Diego), daughter Sandra (Cox) Mallon (Texas), his sisters Linda Center (Sacramento), and Sue Lynn Eversole (Weiser), and his loving extended family. 
 Rex was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to everyone. He loved sports especially baseball, where his favorite team was the San Diego Padres. Rex spent his free time traveling with Nancy, doing household projects, watching various sports and movies on TV and having coffee with his friends. 
 Rex and Nancy were very active in the senior center here in Weiser. 
 Rex was always there to help his family and friends with projects or whatever else people needed from him. 
 A special Thank You to the Relief Society Members from the LDS Church for their support in the celebration of Rex’s life.
 Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Tommy and Gail Uriu and Thomason Funeral Home and Crematory for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.
 Visitation and memorial services for Rex were held Thursday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. at Thomason Funeral Home and Crematory followed by a celebration of Rex’s life at the Senior Center. 
 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Senior Center in Weiser, Idaho.
