Randal Afton Landreth

On Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, Randal Afton Landreth, of Cambridge, Idaho, passed away at the age of 68.  
 Randy was born on May 31, 1950, in Nampa, Idaho, to Lester and Phyllis (Simons) Landreth.  
 Randy was raised in Meridian, Idaho. Randy met Robin Pennington in the spring of 1970 while she was in nursing school.  He married Robin on Aug. 28, 1971, in Weiser, Idaho. They celebrated 47 years of marriage.  
 Randy and Robin raised six children in Cambridge, Renae (Michiel) van Kampen, Rhonda (Greg) Wilson, Raeann (Dave) Genetti, Rory (Katrina) Landreth, Rusty Landreth, and Ronnie (Jamie) Landreth.  
 They have nine grandchildren, Baylie, Hadley, Skylar, Lacey, Bronson, Morgan, Ruby, Elley, and Lucy.  
 Randy served in the Air National Guard from 1968-1976. Randy and Robin lived in Boise, had a small farm in Kuna and then in Homedale prior to settling in Cambridge.  
 Once he finished his service in the Guard, he and Robin settled in Cambridge, Idaho, in 1976.  
 While growing their family, Randy was a farmer/rancher. They raised cattle for a period of time, planted and harvested multiple crops, developed ponds, and participated in re-establishing wildlife by raising pheasants and habitat by planting a variety of trees and shrubs. He was also involved in Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited.  
 As they raised their children, Randy volunteered as a wrestling and t-ball coach as soon as their children were old enough to participate. He enjoyed being outdoors on their property and spending time with his wife and children.  
 Randy enjoyed his hunting trips with relatives and teaching his children to be avid hunters and fishermen.  
 He was preceded in death by his mother and father.  
 Randy is survived by his wife and all of his children and grandchildren.   He loved being with family and believed life was good.   
 At the time of his death, he was surrounded by his wife and all of his children and grandchildren.  
 A celebration of his life will be held at the Indian Valley Community Hall, 181 Indian Valley Road, Indian Valley, Idaho, on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at 11 a.m.  
 In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cambridge Fire Department or American Cancer Society.  Services are provided by Thomason Funeral Home, Weiser, Idaho.
