Myrna Nelson

Myrna Nelson passed away in her home, surrounded by her family on April 21, 2025.

 Myrna was born into this world as Myrna Mae Munger, on March 26, 1936, in her family home. She was the daughter of Seth and Gertrude Munger. Myrna had two older brothers that helped welcome her to this world.

 The family bought a farm in Indian Valley, Idaho. Myrna spent her youth on the farm. When Myrna was a teenager, she loved riding her horse and participating in the Adams County Rodeo Queen’s Court.

 Myrna met Floyd Nelson in school. They were married after she graduated. They had two sons, Douglas Paul Nelson and Floyd Donald Nelson, and a daughter, Sonja Nelson (Wright). After several years of marriage, they divorced. 

 Myrna met Steve Holtz, and they were married. They had a daughter, Cobi Holtz. After several years together, they divorced.

 Myrna met James Paul Knuckles, and they were married. Into this union, Paul brought two children, Rick Knuckles and Lisa Knuckles (Ariotti). They also had a son, James Shawn Knuckles. The family was complete.

 Myrna loved raising her children. She enjoyed camping, sewing, gardening, reading, and canning. She especially loved her grandchildren. The family always looked forward to the holidays and the wonderful treats she would make. Christmas was a favorite of hers.

 She shared a love of cooking and baking. She passed this off to her children and grandchildren. 

 Myrna leaves behind: her three daughters, Sonja Wright (Nelson), Cobi Holtz, and Lisa Ariotti (Knuckles); her son, James Shawn Knuckles; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 Myrna is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, and her two sons, Douglas Nelson and Floyd Donald Nelson, and a special daughter, Launi Waller.

 Memorial services will be held at Beacon Venue, located at 440 State Street in Weiser Idaho, on Saturday, June 7, at 2 p.m.
