Linda Townsend

Linda Townsend, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully in Nampa, Idaho on May 30, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on April 20, 1944, in Santa Maria, Calif., Linda spent much of her life along California’s central coast before moving to Weiser, Idaho in 2008, where she found peace and community in her final years.
Linda made history in the late '80s as one of the first women to work on off shore oil rigs for Unocal in California. Her pioneer spirit paved the way for future generations of women to continue Linda’s legacy of hard work and perseverance.
Linda always had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished dogs who were by her side when she passed. Her warmth, resilience, and quiet strength touched the lives of those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eleanore Ryzner, and her brothers, Alan “Pinky” Ryzner and James “Jim” Ryzner.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Lisa Bottomley of Weiser, Idaho, and Cori Dockery of Aledo, Texas; her five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Her love and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A private remembrance will be held by the family at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter in Linda’s honor.
