To the Editor,
 Washington County deserves a prosecuting attorney who will do the job the office demands: uphold the law, protect public safety, and pursue accountability without fear or favor. That
responsibility is not always popular or comfortable, but it is essential. Everything I describe here points directly to Prosecuting Attorney True Pearce and the kind of leadership he has brought to this office.

To the Editor:
 I am writing today regarding the March 19th Signal American article on the recall of Prosecuting Attorney True Pearce. I feel compelled to respond to a statement that was both inaccurate and insulting. The article claimed that “opponents must hope a huge number of Pearce voters only checked the box next to his name out of fear their ballots would not be counted.”

Community to decide future of ambulance service

WEISER, Idaho – Voters in the Weiser Ambulance District will decide the future funding of local ambulance and emergency medical services during the May 19, 2026, election.
 The election asks voters whether to authorize a permanent levy override that would increase the district’s property tax levy to help support ambulance operations and emergency medical care throughout the district.

WHS cheer wraps up season with state appearance

 The WHS Cheer Team ended the 2026  season at the state competition held in the Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls. 
 At every WHS sports game, one of the most important aspects is having the cheer team cheer on the sports team and get the students excited for the game.
 The cheer team’s work goes far beyond just being on the sidelines of basketball, with the team having its own competition as well, with this season being another great one for the team.

I’m writing to share that Weiser is reaffirming the Weiser Police Department’s mission: to lead through service, protect life, ensure public safety, and enhance the quality of life for all residents. 
 Our department emphasizes professional and ethical policing, active community partnership, and the constitutional enforcement of the law, with accountability to the people it serves.

Snake River Heritage Center Quilt Show

The Snake River Heritage Center, located at 2295 Paddock Ave., will hold a Quilt Show April 10 and 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. This is the first of a number of 2026 events planned at SRHC in 2026. Admission is just $2 at the door, and the museum will be open to tour all four floors while enjoying the beautiful quilts displayed throughout the historic Hooker Hall.

Children must be 5 years of age by Sept. 1, 2026, must be present for screening, and bring immunizations, birth certificates, and proof of residency.
