New water main connected as Weiser continues a busy summer

The City Water Department is grateful to everyone who regularly uses County Road 70 for their patience during last week’s closure. The closure allowed crews to connect the new water main beneath the railroad tracks, an important improvement that will help provide better water distribution to west Weiser.
As Weiser continues to grow and welcome more visitors, it is always enjoyable to share our history and what makes our community so special. My wife is a great example of that. She loves meeting new people, sharing our story, and learning theirs. I believe the spirit we see through our Chamber of Commerce – working together to promote our community rather than competing with one another – is what will help keep Weiser moving in the right direction. Success truly does breed success.
If you happen to notice a large kite soaring over the east end of the cemetery and you enjoy kites, you might want to stop by and visit the lady flying it. She is a true kite expert and enjoys sharing her knowledge and her story with anyone who is interested.
The Farmers Market returns to Weiser City Park every Thursday through Oct. 1, beginning at 5 p.m. I encourage everyone to come out, support our local vendors, and enjoy another great community event.
We have also heard from concerned Weiser residents about the increasing use of electric scooters and bikes. It is wonderful to see people of all ages enjoying our streets and sidewalks, but we also want everyone to stay safe. Unfortunately, we have seen several serious accidents around the valley involving scooters and bikes. Please ride responsibly, watch your speed, and be courteous to pedestrians and motorists. No one wants to see anyone get hurt.
Thank you for helping make Weiser a safe, welcoming, and caring community.
