James Michael Kupser

James Michael Kupser, of Weiser, Idaho, passed away on Jan. 9, 2026, at the Boise VA Medical Center.
Jim was born in Minot, North Dakota on March 12, 1951.
After serving his country in Vietnam, he moved to Idaho, where he made his home for the past 55 years. He settled in Weiser in 2015 and quickly found joy in the simple routines of daily life, often stopping by the post office to bring treats and visit Mary Ann, chatting with Rosemary at Ridley’s, and greeting many familiar faces around town.
One of the highlights of Jim’s year was the annual fishing trip to the Columbia River with his best friend, Cal. He deeply treasured the time they spent together and the memories they shared.
Jim’s grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life, a love clearly reflected in the hundreds of photos found throughout his apartment. He was their super fan, attending as many football and basketball games as he could.
Jim married Linda Pierson in 1972 and they were blessed with two daughters: Melissa and Teresa. Jim later married Margit Boester in 1989.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Melissa (Nick) Reed and Teresa Kupser; his sisters, Carol Kupser (Mary Esther, Florida), Clair Boe, Diane Miller, and Donna Kupser (Washington); and his grandchildren, Ali, Tim, and Brady Reed (Boise, Idaho).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margit Kupser; his sister, Bernice Wetter; and his brother, George Kupser.
Dad, we hope you are enjoying your RC Cola, scratching lottery tickets, and catching all the walleye your heart desires.
