Train collides with semi

A collision between a northbound train and a semi with a flatbed trailer was reported to Washington County dispatch at approximately 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 8. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the semi driver had turned off of Highway 95 onto River Dock Road and pulled across the tracks in front of the train. The impact hit the trailer, ripping it from the semi and carried it down the tracks to behind and just north of GSL Soda Blasting. There were no reported injuries, and WCSO deputies were assisted by the Weiser Police Department, Weiser Fire District, Washington County Road and Bridge, and Weiser Ambulance District. The train was delayed until around 1:15 p.m., and the semi was removed from River Dock Road around 3 p.m.
