Scott Marshall Thompson

 
 Scott Marshall Thompson, passed away at the age of 53 in Pocatello, Idaho on Dec. 23, 2023. 
 He is survived by his parents Mark and Mary Thompson, and his sister, Natalie Simrell, his nephew Dalton Simrell, and cousins and so many friends he touched all over the world.  
 Scott was born on July 1, 1970, in the small town of Weiser, Idaho, to Mark and Mary Thompson. 
 He attended schools in Weiser, Idaho and graduated from Weiser High School in 1988. In high school, Scott loved socializing, and he was the first male cheerleader in the school. He also enjoyed making the high school mascot, the Wolverine, come alive at home games! 
 The family loved to go to their cabin in McCall, Idaho. In McCall, they would go skiing at Brundage Mountain over the Christmas break and in the summer go swimming in Payette Lake. Scott loved traveling and was introduced to it by his parents and grandparents at a young age. He and his sister, Natalie spent their summers traveling cross country with their grandparents. 
 Scott attended College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls for two years then transferred to Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe, Nevada to pursue a degree in resort and hospitality management.  
 He moved to San Francisco and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Dominican University. He taught school in Marin County, Calif.  He returned to Boise, Idaho in 2005 where he taught at Centennial High School. Later he took some time off to travel and visit amusement parks around the country and ultimately settled in Pocatello, Idaho upon his return.  
 Scott was very caring; he always went out of his way for those in need. He was loving, kind and generous. Recently, Scott enjoyed painting rocks and hiding them across the community. He also enjoyed making homemade Christmas ornaments and taking cooking classes.  He enjoyed sharing his gourmet creations with his friends and family.  
 There will be a Rosary on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass for Scott will be Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. both will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weiser, Idaho.  
 In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting everyone to bring a painted rock of your choosing as a keepsake for the family.
