Lions clubs make an impact on your community

Dear Editor:
The Weiser and Midvale Lions clubs are part of Lions International with over 1.4 million members in 49,000 clubs internationally.
These clubs are known for the number of local projects, such as, the annual Election Day chili feed by the Midvale Lions and the vision screenings completed in area school districts every year by both clubs.
Lions clubs in Southern Idaho and Eastern Oregon had an impact on over 100,000 people in our last fiscal year.
From July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, the local Lions clubs have been active in our communities and internationally. This includes the efforts of 52 local clubs and over 1,200 Lions Club members in our area.
Lions Envision Sight, our charitable organization, is a vital component of our activities.
Lions clubs are part of Lions International with over 1.4 million members in 49,000 clubs internationally.
Here are some of the ways Lions have made a difference in our communities:
Assisted with eye surgeries, and hearing aids, provided 370 corneas for transplant, recycled 72,000 pairs of eyeglasses, provided eye exams to many individuals, partnered with food banks to help alleviate hunger, conducted vision and hearing screenings for over 30,000 students, assisted with diabetes education, landscaping for seniors, served meals at homeless shelters and a myriad of other activates that have an impact on lives.
 “We Serve” is our motto.
