George Gerald (Jerry) Else

 George Gerald Else (Jerry) formerly of Weiser, Idaho, died peacefully with his wife and family at his side on May 22, 2024 in Hamilton, Mont. at the age of 91. 

 Jerry was born Nov. 26, 1932 in Anaconda, Mont. and grew up on ranches in the Big Hole Valley. He went to school in a one-room schoolhouse there, then attended Anaconda High School and graduated from Dillon High School in 1951.

 He married Betty June Lindquist in 1953. 

 Jerry served his country in the Navy during the atomic testing in the South Pacific. 

 His livelihood and expertise were in raising registered Angus cattle and he proved his entrepreneurial skills by establishing and successfully operating Ham-Mont Egg Company with 30,000 chickens. He owned various ranches throughout his lifetime in Montana and Oregon. 

 He had an unmovable belief in our Lord Jesus Christ, and was a steady, faithful example to our family. 

 Jerry is survived by his wife Betty; his children, Lee, Kim, Shawn, Andy and Gary and their spouses; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, George Weldon Else and Martha Estella Else; his brother, Kenneth and infant sibling; daughter-in-law, Martha Crawford Else; and son-in-law, Richard Milstead. 

 He will be remembered as a loving husband, and an extraordinary father, grandfather and great-grandfather and we celebrate the wonderful influence he has on our family.
