Donald Thomas Miller
Donald Thomas Miller, 87, of Weiser, Idaho passed away at home on Sept. 14, 2024. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Donald was the fifth child of Joseph George Miller and Margaret Marilla Miller. He was born in St. Anthony, Idaho and raised in Chubbuck, Idaho.
He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1955. Shortly after high school, he knew it was time to serve his country and he joined the United States Air Force where he served in Japan.
After serving in the Air Force, Don served a 2½ year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Japan.
After returning home from his mission, Don attended Idaho State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in social services, and met his sweetheart, Kaye Green. The two were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple, June, 11, 1965.
Together they raised seven children: Don (Niki), Thom (Barbra), Rebecca (Scott), Cathy, Amy (Steve), Jared (Patricia), and Nicole (Jeremy).
The couple moved their family to Weiser in 1974 and felt so at home there that they made the effort to stay there and raise their family.
Over the years Don enjoyed his many jobs including probation officer, school bus driver, and church custodian and handy-man.
After retirement, Don and Kaye were blessed to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fukuoka, Japan.
Don enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and faithfully served in many callings in the church.
As his health declined, it was his wish to remain at home, and he was able to do so with the dedicated care of his wife along with the support of his loving family and the caring employees of Horizon Health Care.
He is preceded in death by his parents and four of his five siblings and his daughter-in-law Patricia Miller.
He is survived by his brother, Merlin Miller (Linda), his children and five of their spouses, 23 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services for Don will be held on Friday, Sept. 20 at The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints in Weiser, Idaho at 11 a.m. Graveside services will follow immediately after the services at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser.
