Bertha Marlene Vogel

 Marlene Vogel, 84, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away June 17, 2026, at her home peacefully with her loving family present. She was under the care of Brio Home Health and Hospice.
 Marlene was born Oct. 28, 1941, at Council, Idaho, to Jasper Jacob and Laura Maude Cramer Ader. She graduated from Midvale High School. 
 On Jan. 28, 1961, she married Charles Vogel in Cambridge, Idaho. They moved to Nampa, where they lived for 34 years before moving to Idaho Falls on Jan. 1, 1995.
 Marlene is survived by her husband, Charles; her daughter, Gayle (Steve) Peters, of Idaho Falls; a sister, Karla Lawson of Boise Idaho; 4 grandchildren, Chris Peters of Salina, Kansas, Crystal (Aaron) Clayson of Ammon, Idaho, Rebecca Marlene (Ben) Laughlin of Oceanside, Calif., Charles (Carissa) Jones of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
 Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Oretha McFarland; nephew, William Lawson; and granddaughter, Kasey Jones Wright.
 Marlene took great joy and was proud of all her grandchildren.
 Marlene was a wonderful cook and enjoyed feeding company. She used to make pie dough for 50 pies and her group would make pies for assemblies. She loved to garden; in 1958 she was a delegate to Idaho’s Girls State.
 Marlene raised a garden and canned some of what she grew, went out into fields and brought, then friends would come and they would have a bean snapping, corn husking, and canning.
 Marlene was a dedicated member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses; she lived her religion.
 A gathering will be held Saturday, July 18 at 4 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., Idaho Falls, ID 83404, with services to follow. The services will be broadcast live at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
