Area nonprofits participate in Idaho Gives

Since the mid-January registrations opening for the 2025 Idaho Gives, over 600 Idaho nonprofits have been added to this year’s participation list. The annual, four-day online donation campaign will run April 28 through May 1, with every donation being tax deductible.

 The Idaho Nonprofit Center inaugurated the first Idaho Gives campaign in 2013, raising nearly $600,000 for 541 causes that first year. Over the years, donations have consistently increased, now adding up to over $3.5 million annually.

 This end of the Treasure Valley has seen a growth in the number of local non-profit organizations over the years, and the online campaign has become a helpful funding tool for each of the important community causes. 

 Weiser’s non-profit organizations on this spring’s participation list include the following:

Angel Wings Network

 Supporting cancer patients and their families for at least 15 years, Angel Wings Network became a tax-deductible 501c3 nonprofit in 2013. Through generous donors and creative fundraising efforts Angel Wings continues to expand its outreach to individuals and families in the midst of navigating cancer treatment. The nonprofit sets new and expanded goals to extend its outreach further each year in both Southwest Idaho and Eastern Oregon. “Each year, we strive to grow, improve, and expand our reach to better serve our cancer community. By strengthening our programs, increasing volunteer engagement, and fostering new donor partnerships, we can enhance the support available to those who need it most.”

Arrow-Heart Adventure Camps 

 Established in 2007, the philosophy behind Arrow-Heart Adventure Camps is the belief that outdoor adventure experiences serve to build a strong sense of self-worth in young teens.

 Through adventures in nature, the goals are to: build character; cultivate self-esteem; improve academic performance; develop positive attitudes; inspire self-motivation; make positive choices when faced with critical challenges; improve interpersonal relations among peers; make positive health decisions; and honor and serve community.

CASPR Dog Rescue

 CASPR is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Rescue located in Weiser. CASPR is dedicated to helping animals escape euthanasia and abuse. With a passion for helping animals, CASPR rescues and fosters dogs from all over the United States, and is one of the few rescues in the country that takes special needs dogs..

 Even though we do not have a facility yet, we have a great network of fosters who help us with our mission of providing animals with the quality of life they deserve.

Friends of the Weiser Library

 Weiser’s Public Library patrons are beneficiaries of the Friends of the Weiser Library efforts year around. The non-profit, volunteer group works to raise funds and financially support a multitude of activities and services at the library, including: Elementary, high school, and adult book clubs; STEM and Makers Station creative programs; Dungeons and Dragons clubs; donations to school libraries; community education programs; author nights and lecture series; and more. The Friends meet every first Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. in the library conference room.

Friends of the Weiser River Trail 

 Although headquartered in Eagle, Friends of the Weiser River Trail became the deeded owner of the Weiser River Trail in 1997 under the railbanking law. Over the past 28 years the trail has been maintained and improved for recreation and public lands access, and draws visitors to Washington and Adams counties from all over the country and internationally. 

 Starting in Weiser, the 84 mile long trail passes through the towns of Midvale, Cambridge, and Council. FWRT’s mission is: To preserve the integrity of the PIN Railroad corridor; to develop, manage and maintain a public recreational trail along its length; and, to protect and enhance the riparian and other natural habitats within the corridor.

Future Wolverines Foundation  

 Future Wolverines Foundation, Inc. helps children in the Weiser School District area to be able to participate in activities offered through Weiser’s Recreation Department.  It pays for fees and equipment and levels the playing field for children. We help children participate in activities such as basketball, football, soccer, cheerleading, reading programs, baseball and any other activity that is made available to them. It is so important for children to be involved in activities that promote self-esteem and improvement. Your donation will help change the direction of some children’s lives.

ROSE Advocates 

 Becoming a well-known public organization for over 30 years, ROSE Advocates assists and supports individuals in six southwest Idaho counties who are confronted with any form of domestic violence.

 “We strive to help each person begin a safe life for themselves and their families. We strive to provide an environment that nurtures empowerment, self-esteem and self-worth.

Weiser Architectural Preservation Committee

 The 42-year-old Weiser Architectural Preservation Committee just became a non-profit organization in 2024. The Committee’s work focuses on preserving Weiser’s historic buildings, landmarks, and written history, and the hope is to draw support from the many Weiser-connected people across the state and country.

 “Through generosity and stories, appreciation can grow, education can expand, and advocacy for preserving Weiser’s unique architectural character can continue. These historical gems – and the stories they hold – can endure for generations to come”

 Featuring a “History Repeats” match, the first $1,500 in donations through Idaho Gives will go twice as far from the courtesy of a group of long-time WAPC patrons. 

Weiser Memorial Hospital 

Foundation

 Students seeking an education in the healthcare field are the sole beneficiaries of Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Healthcare Scholarship Fund supported through the Idaho Gives campaign. Recognizing the financial challenges associated with higher education, along with a need for rural healthcare providers, Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Healthcare Scholarship program gives back to the next generation of healthcare professionals and helps bridge the financial gap.

Weiser River Animal Shelter 

and Rescue

 Weiser River Animal Shelter and Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and temporary sheltering of animals in distress until they find loving homes through adoption. Our vision encompasses a future where every animal in Washington County receives the care and shelter it deserves, ensuring that none are left without assistance before finding their forever homes.

 Other area nonprofits participating in the 2025 drive that benefit the local area include: Adams County Health Center in Council; Four Rivers Health Community, Ontario; Special Olympics Idaho, New Plymouth; and Treasure Valley Community College Foundation, Ontario.
