WCRCC gaze set on future after organizational meeting

Chris Christopherson is the newly elected Washington County Republican Central Committee chair.
 But the outcome did not unfold easily.
 The WCRCC held a meeting last week to re-organize its executive positions and to decide on delegates to represent it at the state convention scheduled for June 13, 14, and 15 in Coeur d’ Alene. 

City of Weiser, County assess city police department offices

The Weiser City Council recently approved up to $2,500 to share the cost of an appraisal of office space currently utilized by the Weiser Police Department.
 Council members were told during its May 7 regular monthly meeting that the total cost of the appraisal would be split between the city and the county. 
 “We are in the exploratory stages right now,” Weiser Mayor Randy Hibberd said of the city’s effort to find a new home for the police department.

Weed Advisory Board meeting cancelled

 The Washington County Weed Advisory Board will not hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 11. The next meeting will be held in July.

Four-day Bluegrass and Banjo camp kicks off today, June 6

 June has become nearly a full month of music in the Weiser area, and the grounds around Slocum Hall and the Snake River Heritage Center came alive today, June 6, with the fourth annual Idaho Bluegrass and Banjo Camp, sponsored by the Idaho Bluegrass Association (IBA).
