Weiser Middle School student wins $1000 from Zions Bank

Weiser Middle School student Eli Woods learned the surprise news that he had won $1,000 during a Sept. 24 school assembly. Zions Bank Weiser Financial Center manager Holly Lyons called Woods to the stage to present the statewide Zions Pays for A’s grand prize.
The Zions Bank Pays for A’s program recognizes the hard work and academic achievements of local students. Earlier this year, Woods took his report card into Zions Bank and was paid for every “A” he received. He was then selected randomly in a drawing among entrants from throughout the state of Idaho, which included more than 1,000 entries.
“I have always been passionate about education,” Lyons said. “The Pays for A’s program is such a benefit to students and I’m proud that Zions Bank helps youth invest in their future.”
Open to all Idaho and Utah students ages 12 through 18, Zions Pays for A’s offers cash incentives for good grades. Students take their most recent term-end report cards from the current academic year into any Zions Bank location.
For each “A” on their report cards, students are entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of 150 regional scholarship prizes each worth $100 and one grand prize worth $1,000 in each state.
