Weiser girls soccer goes 2-for-3 last week

The Weiser High School girls soccer team won two of three out-of-town games last week.
Led by head coach Bernie Weldon, the varsity team first took on Fruitland and brought home a 7-4 loss against the Grizzlies quick offense.
Behind by one, with the score 4-3 at half-time, the Wolverines couldn’t post quite enough points to compete and would spend the second half working defense.
After Tuesday’s loss, the girls had a single practice to recover for Payette.
Thursday brought some heat on and off the field. Rhianna Soliz proved to be an offensive key in the lineup and scored three goals in addition to an assist or two.
Andrea Bouvia, Kendyll Spencer, and Alex Bittinger also put up scores for the day with Ellie Svedin notably aggressive and posting an assist.
Friday the team hit the road for a third time and headed to Ontario.
Sophomore Brooklynn Werner started the day off with a goal, followed by Soliz assisting Bouvia for the second point.  Soliz’s ball handling skills were remarkable, dribbling in another point before the break.
At half-time the score was tied 3-3. Soliz opened the second half with an easy tap into the net. Bouvia returned the favor of the assist to Soliz and the pair took Weiser into a 5-4 lead.
Late in the second half Werner turned on the burners and would score the only two points left for the day, closing the game with a 7-4 victory.
