Sheldon ‘Lee’ Alder

 
 Sheldon “Lee” Alder, 89, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022.
 Lee was born in Weiser, Idaho to Sheldon and Ruth Alder on March 6, 1933 just ahead of his twin sister Leora. Sisters Lilly and Merna would later complete the family.
 He was raised on a farm on the Weiser Flat. He loved farming even as a young boy.
 He went to school in Weiser. After graduating he went on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to the Great Western States Mission from 1954-1956.
 After his mission, Lee went to BYU where he met his beautiful wife, Dixie Davis. He asked her to marry him on their first date. She declined, but he was persistent, and they were engaged three months later.
 They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Nov. 22, 1957. 
 They moved to Weiser and started their family on a dairy farm.
 They were blessed with eight children: John, Christy, Paul, Jim, Sam, Ginger, Matt, Aaron.
 Lee loved his sweetheart, Dixie, his family, his Savior Jesus Christ, farming and all his pets.
 He was known for his fun sense of humor, his service to others, his great example of hard work, his faith in his Savior, and his humility.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Leora Smith and Merna Lippman Wood. Granddaughter Kylene Vickers and grandson Chris Alder.
 He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Dixie, his sister Lilly Singleton, brother-in-law Bob
Smith. Children: John (Trish) Alder, Christy (Alan) Waite, Paul (Lisa) Alder, Jim (Shannon) Alder, Sam (Darla) Alder, Ginger Pedroza, Matt Alder and Steve Munday, Aaron (Maria) Alder. Grandchildren: Todd, Ashley, Eric, Mischa, Tarl, Shae, Talon, Talena, Ryan, Amanda, Tyler, Hannah, Indy, Arrow, Teague, Tevis, Tess, Toby, Tayson, Torrin, Andre, Callie, Brenen, Rhaya, Soren, Reesa, Davis and 28 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
