Ridley’s to hold fundraiser to help fellow employee

On April 10, Ridley’s will be hosting a barbecue fundraiser to raise money for one of their own who was recently in a severe car accident.
On March 8 Korrina Juneau-Chism was out helping her friends calving late at night after having worked a full shift at Ridley’s the day before. On her way home early the next morning she lost control of her vehicle and it rolled over. Chism was partially ejected from the vehicle and was severely injured.
Chism’s injuries included broken ribs, two collapsed lungs, a broken collar bone, and sternum, and a lacerated liver to stage 5, leaving her liver only operating at about 15 percent. Chism spent eight days in the hospital ICU and required multiple surgeries.
Although she is now home and recovering, she has a very long road of recovery ahead of her, and the medical bills will be extensive. Her insurance will only cover a fraction of what she will need to be free from the burden of these medical bills affecting her life long after she recovers.
Chism is known by both customers and coworkers for always having a smile on her face and always willing to lend a helping hand, so now her coworkers are asking for others to help lend their helping hands to her.
Lissa Brown, a Ridley’s manager, and close friend of the family and coworker, John Groff started the fundraising efforts immediately after hearing of the accident.
“We just want her to focus on getting well, and do our part to help in whatever ways we can with the financial burden,” Groff said.
The group immediately set up a GoFundMe and began collecting donations for the raffle and barbecue.
Raffle prizes have been donated by individuals and businesses all over the Treasure Valley including Yeti, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Weiser Classic Candies, Ontario Auto Ranch, D&B Supply, Les Schwab, Peoples Furniture and more.
Tickets for the raffle are $5 each or 5 for $20. Presale raffle tickets are for sale at Ridley’s every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. up until and including the day of the raffle.
Supporters can come out to the barbecue starting at noon and enjoy a hotdog or pulled pork and other goodies. To add to the special event Chism’s favorite country western radio station, WOW Country 104.3, will also be coming to do a live broadcast for the fundraiser from noon to four.
