LOR Foundation sponsors movie night on July 3 and Aug. 16

On July 3, the Weiser Public Library held a fun family event free to all families in the Weiser area where they could all get together and watch a movie.

The library in the past has done a multitude of fun events such as indoor movies, STEM activities, and more but this is the first time they have done something like this big event.
During the evening, the kids and the rest of their family could sit and watch the classic movie E.T. directed by Steven Spielberg, originally released in 1982 over 40 years ago.
The movie is a classic today so it was the perfect family film for everyone to watch and enjoy during the summer night.
The event was hosted right on the front lawn of the library and started at dusk and even before the movie started, people were already there excitedly waiting for the movie to start.
During the movie, the attendees could also get popcorn, cotton candy, and even snow cones to snack on during the film’s duration.
The best part of all of this, however, was the fact that all of this was at no cost to any of the people attending the event.
Everything was free meaning families could bring their kids and have a fun free night to make memories out of.
The person who mainly ran the event was Timbra Long. Long is a long-time employee who works at the Weiser Public Library. She wanted everyone to be able to enjoy this time of year and make some memories with their family.
“My goal is that every family gets a fun evening to enjoy as a family and it doesn’t even cost them a penny and gives them memories to cherish,”  Long said.
Now of course, none of this would have ever happened without the help from various members of the community of Weiser and the LOR Foundation.
The people who helped were the Friends of the Library, the Weiser Public Library itself, and the LOR Foundation. Without the help of these people, the event would never have happened so it was truly great that they could all help out.
The event was also a great success. Tons of people from all over Weiser showed up with their friends, family, and more as they all got to sit down and enjoy the classic '80s film.
In the future, on Aug. 16, the library plans to hold an event like this again. Hopefully, when the event happens, it can be yet another great success and continue to bring not just families closer together, but all of Weiser as well.
