Cambridge resident Deborah Warren is running for Washington County Commissioner District 3

Deborah Warren has announced that she is running for Washington County District 3 County Commissioner in the May Primary Election as a Republican.
Deborah was raised on a ranch in Cambridge, and graduated from Cambridge High School. She earned a college degree in biology, married and raised three daughters in the Boise area while her husband, Dan served in law enforcement there for 26 years. During her time in the Treasure Valley, Deborah stayed close to her agricultural roots working as a lab technician at the Caine Veterinary Teaching Center which assisted ranchers all over the Northwest.
In 2007, Deborah and Dan moved back to Cambridge. Deborah became involved with the “Upper Country Singers” annual Christmas event, which she has directed for 13 years. She has served in her church, facilitated a farmer’s market and has been a project coordinator for two Cooperative Weed Projects near Cambridge.
She began working at Washington County Planning and Zoning in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant. She later moved to the County Clerk’s office where she has held positions in recording, elections, payroll, and most recently, as the deputy auditor.
Her most current position involves auditing all claims for payment, and working closely with the elected Washington County Clerk in oversight of the County budget.
Deborah has worked closely with all County elected officials, department heads, county employees and has attended and participated in Commissioner meetings and hearings.
Deborah’s years of experience within the County and the relationships that she has developed with local and state elected officials, and state agencies will allow her to “hit the ground running” as a Commissioner. She understands the role and duties a fully responsible county commissioner must perform. She plans to assist County departments coordinate their activities effectively to best serve the residents of Washington County. She will also be a strong and knowledgeable voice that the County needs to be heard by State legislators.
Warren stated, “I believe the Commissioners need to lead the discussions of how our three communities deal with growth. Growth is here. It is changing Idaho. It will change each county.  As a Conservative, I believe that local governments must have the most authority to make decisions affecting their communities. We must carefully balance personal property rights while protecting our rural way of life. Roads, law enforcement, emergency medical and other services must be wisely supported, improved and expanded as more people become residents of Washington County.  I desire to serve all the citizens of Washington County with integrity and transparency. I promise to be quick to listen, to make thoroughly informed decisions, and facilitate collaboration and communication to help us to accomplish extraordinary things.”

Incumbent Margaret Jensen is running for precinct chair for Weiser, 04
My name is Margaret Jensen, and I am running for the Republican Precinct chair for Weiser, 04.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics with a minor in Plant Science, from UC Davis.  We moved to Weiser almost 30 years ago to follow my career in vegetable seed sales.
Currently I am the executive director of a non-profit agribusiness association, where I work on legislative issues regarding agriculture in a five-state region.
My husband, John, and I have been married 34 years and have raised three children in our community, all who have gone on to be college graduates, have remained true to their conservative, Republican values and are all gainfully employed.
We both have served our community as volunteers in many different capacities over the years and run three businesses here in Weiser.
I have been a registered Republican all my adult life and have been a part of the Idaho GOP and Central Committee for over 25 years. I have served in a couple capacities from State Committee Woman to my current role as precinct chair and secretary of our Central Committee. I chaired our Lincoln Day dinner for six years with an amazing committee, building it into the event to attend, to meet our elected officials and candidates running for office.
Five years ago, after attending a State GOP meeting, I met several women who were part of the Idaho State Federation of Republican Women. Realizing that we did not have a group in Washington County, we assembled a small group of women and started the Washington County Federation of Republican Women (WCFRW), where I serve as president.
In four years, we have helped educate our community on political issues, candidates, and given pocket constitutions to every graduating senior in Washington County.
Under my direction, we have also started a scholarship fund for graduating seniors who are registered Republicans. I have organized classes for enhanced concealed carry training, certifying over 300 people in our community on the legalities and safety of carrying a concealed gun.
This election cycle, I have personally or assisted in scheduling over 30 local, state, and national Republican candidates to visit our community, allowing you, the voter, to go to the polls informed! I have sent links through social media and emails to help you learn about how our legislative process works and how to follow important bills, including instruction on how to access information on how our legislators are voting.
As a precinct chair, my No. 1 responsibility is to maximize the Republican vote. This is done by identifying candidates, informing the public on how these candidates stand on issues, making the community aware of important issues, and getting folks out to vote.
I am running again for precinct chair because I care about the Republican Party. I want you, our voters, to be as informed as possible when going to the polls and I want to make a difference.

In 2014, Donna was hired as the deputy auditor for Washington County and began serving as the Washington County Clerk in 2019.
Tim and Donna have been married for 31 years and have two children. They have lived in the Treasure Valley their entire lives and moved to the Weiser area in 2017.
