Los Pablanos Mexican market offers authenticity and quality

Los Poblanos Market is the new Mexican grocery store and restaurant in Weiser that is sure to satisfy your cravings for authentic Mexican foods.
Los Poblanos is located at 260 E. 7th St., right off the highway. The store is all about quality, authenticity and convenience. The store offers everything from a small section of house goods, to Mexican candies and pinatas, to fresh pan (bread), and homemade tortillas.
They also offer fresh produce, ranging from the more expected avocados, to the more unique cactus and tomatillos.
The back of the store features a small “taqueria” offering fresh authentic Mexican dishes made the right way. They offer tamales, tacos, and burritos daily, with specials like slow cooked Menudo on Saturday and Sunday.
At Los Pablanos, you not only get the expected plates of tacos and refried beans, you can also find foods that are unavailable anywhere else in the area like Elote (Mexican grilled corn) and green burritos.
Owner Victor Gonzales said that although the plates of food will be served quickly, and at prices similar to fast food, they hope that is the only similarity to the fast food experience.
“We want to make good food at a good price for the people,” Gonzales said.
His goal is to keep the food very authentic with no commercial or frozen foods. His mother does much of the cooking, and she makes sure to cook for the restaurant just like she would cook at home.
The store hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
You can call them at 208-549-2991 or stop by and see what they have to offer. You’re sure to be amazed at everything they have in one small store.
Gonzales named his market after his hometown of Poblanos, Mexico, where he was born and grew up before moving to California.
Although he has some restaurant experience cooking for Marie Callender’s in Los Angeles, he  has been a truck driver for 23 years while, living in Ontario, Ore.
Gonzales and his family moved to Weiser and opened the market to not only offer something new and unique to Weiser, but he is also hopeful that he will be able to retire from his trucking career and run the Los Poblanos Market full time.
After being open for about a month, Gonzales is grateful for the business that they have had and the positive feedback they have received from their customers so far.
