Letter: Learn about home solar systems at local events

Editor:
The trend to add solar power
in this country is steadily
increasing each year.
As of January 2019, there
is enough connected solar
power in the U.S. to supply
12.5 million homes.
According to the U.S. Energy
Information Agency, 30
percent of the electrical energy
consumed in the U.S. is
for cooling and heating.
This means the addition
of solar to an existing or new
home can have a significant
impact on the total amount
of energy needed in the U.S.
from commercial and utility
sources.
Now is a good time to investigate
the advantages and
affordability for each resident
of our community and
county.
To this end, there are a
number of events coming up
that will allow individuals to
investigate solar power as an
alternative energy source.
The Weiser Chamber of
Commerce Trade Show on
Thursday, Sept. 26, will include
a booth providing information
on solar energy
systems. Please stop by and
take a look at the literature.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, I am participating in the National Solar Tour which is designed to highlight the installation of residential solar systems
throughout the U.S.
To participate, I have offered to host an open house at my farm and anyone who wishes to see my solar system is welcome to come to 30 Hill Road, Weiser between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
I will show you my system and answer any questions you might have.
There will also be a forum on solar energy at the Vendome on Tuesday, Oct.
22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A number of speakers are scheduled to address the
physical requirements costs and financial resources available. Please attend this forum and learn if adding solar to your residence, farm or
business is right for you.
