Indianhead Fly Fishers grateful for public participation

Dear Editor,

 As a member of Indianhead Fly Fishers, I am very grateful for the efforts of many folks involved in the annual maintenance efforts at the Weiser Community Pond, which occurred on June 2. The concerted efforts of an estimated 55 folks from various City of Weiser agencies, citizen groups, and individuals cleared brush, mowed and grubbed out weeds and tules, painted the fishing dock, and renovated the feeder creek.

 Especially encouraging was the conspicuous presence and efforts of the teenagers from the Arrow-Heart Adventure Camps group. 

 At the conclusion, the participants were treated to hot dogs, chips and beverages provided by the local Elks chapter, Ridley’s, Bi-Mart, and Independent Meat Company.

 “The Pond” is a valuable resource for our community. I encourage your readers to give it a visit and enjoy the results of this event.
