Health and dental plans available for preview on Idaho exchange

Idahoans can preview and comparison shop the 293 health and dental insurance plans being offered by seven carriers on Your Health Idaho’s newly designed mobile-friendly marketplace at YourHealthIdaho.org.
“Idahoan’s are often surprised to learn how much they can save on their health insurance by previewing and comparison shopping for health and dental plans on the exchange,” said Pat Kelly, executive director of Your Health Idaho.
“Even with a modest single-digit rate increase this year, most Idahoans are saving 80 percent on health insurance using a tax credit only available through Your Health Idaho to help offset the costs of monthly premiums.”
Previewing and comparison shopping for health insurance plans, prices, and benefits is extremely important.
Here are a few helpful tips for families and individuals to keep in mind when reviewing health plans and coverage.
First, understand and evaluate your health care needs; second, consider your total health care expenses not just premiums and; third, understand how the different plans are designed to meet different needs.
Also, you’ll want to work with an experienced and trusted health insurance agent or broker who can provide free help by explaining plans, benefits and costs so you can review and select the best health plan option for you.
There is a network of 900 health insurance agents and brokers available across Idaho.
This year, Your Health Idaho’s newly designed mobile-friendly website will continue to help consumers navigate the wide range of plans available.
Idahoans can use the marketplace to check their eligibility for a tax credit, compare premiums, copays, and deductibles, all of which are important factors to consider before purchasing a health plan.
Open Enrollment starts Nov. 1 and ends Dec. 15 for coverage starting Jan. 1, 2019.
Customers who have 2018 health insurance coverage with the exchange will automatically be re-enrolled into a comparable plan and those plans will be when consumers login to their account on Nov. 1.
Prior to the 2019 Open Enrollment period, health insurance carriers will reach out to their customers to inform them of any changes to their current plan, including differences in rates and deductibles.
