George T. (Hawkeye) Hawkins

George T. (Hawkeye) Hawkins, 72, of Weiser, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Dec. 10, 2019 with his loving wife, Rhonda by his side.
 Hawkeye was born Feb. 26, 1947 in Mare Island, Calif., to George and Michelle Hawkins.
 After high school graduation from Bountiful, Utah High School he joined the Air Force where he served as a weapons mechanic. Upon being honorably discharged from the Air Force he began a lifelong career as a pilot and enjoyed jobs ranging from flying the back country to corporate and commercial jets. He was also a Federal Flight Deck Officer after the events of 9/11.
 Hawkeye retired as a captain from America West Airlines in 2007 with nearly 20 years of experience.
 He remained active in the community by volunteering with the Washington County Search and Rescue, Sheriff’s Posse, Hunters’ Education Instructor; as well as maintaining his membership in the Elks and Masonic lodges.
 His favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing. music, and outdoor photography.
 He is survived by his wife. Rhonda, her sons Andrew Hayden and Michael Hayden; brothers Dan Hawkins and Michael Hawkins; uncle Harry (Anne) Hawkins; daughter Nikki Kaliher (Chris) Nilles and their children Laura, Abagail, and Landon.
 Private family services will be held at a later date.
