Five Wolverines make all-conference volleyball teams

The coaches for the Snake River Valley Conference have made their 2019 all-conference selections.  Five deserving Lady Wolverines received the nod this season, following a season that culminated in a berth in the Idaho 3A State Volleyball Tournament.
 Junior outside hitter Reagan Doty was named to the first team, and senior outside hitter Grace Soulen earned second team honors.  Senior setter Ciana Fuller, sophomore libero Macey Buescher and senior Macy Moore all received honorable mentions.
 The full list of All Conference selections are as follows:
 Player of the Year: Kate Hardy, senior – Fruitland.
 Coach of the Year: Rena Sitz – Fruitland.
First team selections
 Katie Compas, sophomore – Parma; Sage McDaniel, senior – Fruitland; Chanlar O’Neil, sophomore – Fruitland; Gracie Dines, senior – Homedale; Reagan Doty, junior – Weiser; Rachel Miller, senior – Payette.
Second Team
 Grace Jackson, junior – Parma; Ellie Baker, freshman – Fruitland; Brooke Johnson, junior – Parma; Madison Scott, junior – Fruitland; Nikki Baird, senior – Parma; Grace Soulen, senior – Weiser.
Honorable Mention
 Myah Gibb, sophomore – Fruitland; Abbie Gray, senior – Homedale; Maycee Grosvenor, junior – Fruitland; Danielle Grant, senior – Payette; Cianna Fuller, senior – Weiser; Macey Buescher, junior – Weiser; Regan Braden, senior – Parma; Macy Moore, senior – Weiser; Kaitlyn Missamore, junior – Homedale; Aeverie Burns, senior – Payette; Hailey Hershey, senior – Fruitland; Ami Wall, senior – Fruitland; Sydney Dennison, sophomore – Payette; Josey Wilson, senior – Fruitland.
 Fruitland and Weiser were the two 3A teams who received berths to the state championships in Coeur d’Alene on Nov. 1 and 2.
 Fruitland’s first match was against Gooding. The Grizzlies took the match in four games. They then went up against Sugar-Salem and lost to this year’s state champion in five sets. The Grizzlies then had to work their way through the consolation bracket beating Snake River, Gooding and Filer to take second place.
 Weiser was the second 3A team to qualify to the state tourney. Their first game was against Filer. Filer took the match in three sets sending Weiser to the consolation bracket against Snake River. The Lady Wolverines took it to five sets but was knocked out of the tournament.
