Find the truth and have the courage to uphold the truth

Dear Editor,
Joe Friday from the TV show “Dragnet” said, “Facts, just the facts Sir.” This dates me I guess. Sometimes the simplest things, those that are followed by DAH! are the things we need to put together to find “common sense.” (And, whoever said sense was common?)
A saying that keeps going through my mind (a variation used by several thought provoking people like Mark Twain and Will Rogers) goes like this. “The trouble with most people is not that they don’t know much, but that they know so much that isn’t true.”
I would never place myself anywhere near their wit and wisdom. Paraphrased, this quote says to me. “It’s not about remembering; it’s not about the details, it’s about remembering something that is NOT true, yet believing that it is true.”
You think something is true and when you are proven wrong, you stubbornly hold to the error. [Stay with me.] Why do certain people stay in office? N.P., O.A.C., etc. It’s the people who continue to vote them in... wait for it...Dah! People in their districts refuse to change. The line from “Oh, Brother where art Thou”, rings in my ears, “Is you or isn’t you my constituents?” The only way that you can get over believing a lie, is to challenge the lie; find the truth; and have the courage to uphold the truth.
I was asked by a man, “What color is truth.” I said, “It’s white!” “No”, he said, “My daughter says it’s grey.” Go figure what our kids are being taught. Check out what will be taught to grade school kids, soon.
We stand on truth as being important, “We hold these truths to be self-evident” [understood by all, not just by the majority],
The pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Ask yourself, “What is the color of the red in our flag?” Old Glory Red. It is made by mixing Patriot blood, with tears, sweat, dirt and grime, a lot of truth and love of freedom. Not socialism. I’m a flag thumper if you couldn’t tell. Thank you Weiser city for the flag display at Christmas.
Fact: The office of leadership in the U.S.A. is the President. The man who sits in the chair does not make the President, the office makes the man. History will tell of what material the man was made of. God bless America and God bless Donald Trump. God bless and help Joe Biden.
