Evelyn L. Friday

Evelyn L. Friday, lovingly known as “Lori” and affectionately called “Aunts” by her family, was born on June 11, 1934, and peacefully reunited with her loved ones on Nov. 30, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Ted and Inez Friday, and her beloved sister, Marilyn “Friday” Johnson.
The Friday family played an active role in their local Nazarene church, where both Ted and Inez served as preachers.
Nicknamed “Aunts” by her niece Jocelyn Dunham – a name she wore proudly and lovingly – Evelyn lived a vibrant and fulfilling life. She had a deep love for travel, cherishing memorable journeys with her family and close friends. Among her favorites were walking in the sacred footsteps of Jerusalem and exploring the beauty of Italy.
“Aunts” was more than an aunt – she was a second mother to her nieces and nephews: Sonya Stauffer, Jocelyn and Stephen Dunham, Jared Pectol, Ron Johnson Jr., D’Anne Johnson, and Harry Hagen. She also maintained lifelong bonds with her many cousins, whom she loved deeply.
After graduating from school in Weiser, Evelyn made San Diego her forever home. She adored the beach and found a close-knit community in the La Jolla area.
Her career included roles at UCSD and Scripps, where she made lasting friendships and lived a life full of joy and independence. While she embraced the beach life, the mountains always held a special place in her heart – often wistfully saying, “Ah, the mountains.”
Evelyn truly lived life on her own terms – full of love, laughter, and grace. We miss you dearly, “Aunts,” and will love you forever. Let Go and Let God.
Please join us in celebrating Evelyn’s life on June 7, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser, Idaho.
