Evelyn Hope (Heleker) Jackson

Evelyn Hope (Heleker) Jackson, 93, of Weiser, Idaho, passed away peacefully at the Cottages of Weiser on Friday, March 1, 2019.  
 She was born on the family farm in Beattie, Kansas on Oct. 23, 1925 to the late Harry and Edna (Boggs) Heleker. 
 She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years Charles E. Jackson, a son Gary A. Jackson, a daughter Janet L. Koskella, and her beloved brother “Pat” Heleker.
 Hope attended Snipe Creek Schoolhouse in Beattie, Kansas and then junior high and high school in Marysville, Kansas.  The family moved from Marysville to Payette, Idaho and then on to Portland, Ore., in 1942.  
 She graduated from Franklin High School in Portland in 1943. The family then settled back in Payette, Idaho after a brief time in Portland.
 She moved to Boise, Idaho from Payette and it was there she met Charles while working at the Veterans Administration office. They married in 1946 and moved to Pullman, Wash., where Charles attended WSU on the GI Bill.  
 After he graduated in 1950, they moved to Weiser where Charles had been born and raised and it was there, they stayed.
 She was a faithful and active member of the Community Church. She played the piano and could sing beautifully. She was a gifted artist, well known in the community for her art.
She enjoyed swimming, golf, tennis, and skiing. She was a long-time active member of Chapter T, PEO.  
 She and Charles enjoyed traveling after he retired, visiting 41 counties.
 She is survived by two daughters, Gail Starkey and Debra Prince and 11 grandchildren: Matt (Suzy) Lindley, Laura (Koskella) (Robert) Stover, Eric Prince, Cody (Lisa) Lindley, Michelle (Koskella) (Josh) Dalton, Christine (Prince) (Marc) Pericolosi, Darren Koskella, Katherine Prince, Victoria Prince, Jessica Prince, and Michael Prince. She is also survived by 20 great- grandchildren.
 The celebration of her life will be at Thomason Funeral Home, 221 E. Court St., Weiser, Idaho on March 13, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.  
 Graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Family will gather at 1780 Fairmont at the conclusion of services.
