Donna Marie Webb

Donna Marie Webb passed away in Weiser, Idaho on Oct. 9, 2019.
She was born Donna Marie Hunter in Preston, Wash., on Aug. 25, 1934.
Donna was raised in Shelton, Wash., with her four siblings.
She met Kenneth Webb the summer before her senior year in high school, and they were married just five months later, on Dec. 21, 1951. A month later, Kenneth shipped out to Korea with the Army. While Kenneth was away, Donna graduated from Shelton High School. When he returned in December 1952, Donna greeted him at the dock with their two-month old daughter, Tracy.
The family soon moved from Washington to Weiser, Idaho, where Kenneth had been born and raised. They would make Weiser their permanent home.
Donna had several occupations throughout her lifetime. She worked in fruit packing sheds over several seasons; she was an aide at the nursing home; she was a clerk at a small grocery store; and she worked as a baker in the kitchen at the high school.
Donna’s favorite job was caring for children in her home. She was the dedicated babysitter for several children over her lifetime, many of whom she cared for from the time they were infants. She stayed active in those children’s lives as they grew up, becoming a surrogate grandmother to them.
Donna was an accomplished seamstress. She made many clothes for her children and grandchildren. She sewed, crocheted, knitted, embroidered, and quilted countless pieces over the years for her friends and family.
Donna was an excellent cake decorator, as well, and was commissioned to create cakes for weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays. Donna was a published poet, often writing poems for special occasions when requested.
Donna was a devoted Christian who helped found what is now Riverside Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member of the church since its establishment. As well as holding deaconess and head deaconess positions over the years, Donna taught Sunday School and sang special music.
Donna is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth of Weiser; her brother LaVerne Hunter (Lila) of Silver Creek, Wash.; her daughter Tracy Higgins of Quincy, Wash.; her son Mitchel of San Diego, Calif.; her daughter Wendy Gann (Kelly) of Seabeck, Wash.; grandchildren Michael Higgins (Tawny), Megan Higgins, Mysti Gann, Brian Higgins (Sara), Matthew Gann (Kristin), and Patrick Higgins (Shelly) as well as 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents Vane and Gladys, her brothers Richard and Frederick, her sister Patricia, her son-in-law William, and her granddaughter Kathleen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverside Baptist Church on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Donna’s name to Angel Wings Network, Inc., 773 West Main Street, Weiser, ID 83672, or to your favorite charity.
