Christensen is newly appointed member on P&Z commission

The Weiser City Planning and Zoning Commission recently filled a vacancy, the Weiser City Council unanimously voting to appoint former Weiser Memorial Hospital CFO Mark Christensen as the Commission’s fifth member.
Christensen grew up in northeast Montana and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Montana and later an MBA from Boise State University.  He is a CPA and has spent the last 40 years working in finance in hospitals in western Oregon and south Idaho.  Most recently, he was the CFO of Weiser Memorial Hospital. Christensen retired from that position in December 2020.
“My wife and I have lived here in Weiser for the past four years and have come to love the community and people here,” he said. “I have been asked to serve on the city Planning and Zoning committee and intend to quickly learn what that entails and how to contribute to maintaining what makes this community such a great place to live.”
Christensen replaces former Commission member Scott Manser.
John Jensen, Jay Edwards, Heather Dryden, and Ken Lukehart round out the Commission.
