10-run rule triggered in win over Payette

Adding five runs in the top of the fifth inning in Payette on Wednesday, April 20, and then not allowing the Pirates to mount an offense in the bottom half, triggered the 10-run rule, giving the Lady Wolverines a 14-4 win.
Payette took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but that only lasted long enough for Weiser to add two in the top half of the second.
Payette was in scoring position in the bottom half, but Wolverine pitcher Paisley Noyer struck out the final batter for the third out.
Weiser went on a seven-run scoring spree in the third inning, with runs added off hits by P. Noyer, Mecarte Olsen, Taylor Bushong, Macy Maloney, and a triple by Whitney Cordes.
The Pirates gave a push in the bottom half, starting with a bunt by K. Kiem, and a Weiser error allowing her to advance to third base. A line drive single by the next batter scored Kiem. Pirates pitcher Sofie Lebow homered on the next at bat, scoring J. Barrett and herself, and moving Payette’s runs to 4. But, a fly out and two strikeouts ended the Payette effort.
The fourth inning was a wash for both teams, Weiser getting four at-bats, and Payette going three up, three down.
In the top of the fifth, with one out and two on base, Cordes singled on a bunt, scoring Maloney. Tobie Noyer singled on a line drive to center, and Cordes advanced to third on the throw. P. Noyer sacrificed, but reached first on an error, scoring Cordes. T. Noyer scored when Olsen grounded out to third baseman Barrett, who threw to first, and P. Noyer advanced to third.
Abi Wilkins singled on a hard ground ball to left, scoring Noyer and putting Weiser up 14-4.
 T. Noyer took over in the circle in the bottom, striking out the first two Payette batters. Pirates catcher Kendall Parsons was walked, but the fourth batter grounded out to Olsen at first, ending the inning and the game.
 P. Noyer pitched four innings, striking out six, and allowing four runs on four hits. T. Noyer pitched one inning striking out two, and allowing zero hits and zero runs.
The entire Weiser lineup had hits, with Cordes and T. Noyer each going 3-for-4 at the plate, Wilkins and Bushong each had two hits, and one apiece for Ivy Morris, P. Noyer, Olsen, Grace Swank, and Maloney. Cordes and Olsen led with three RBIs each, P. Noyer and Maloney with two apiece, and Wilkins and Bushong credited with one each.
In junior varsity action in Weiser, the Wolverines recorded an 11-5 win. Weiser scored 11 runs on 12 hits. Aryssa Aburto was on the rubber six innings for Weiser, striking out 10 and allowing five runs on two hits.
