Western Music and Cowboy Poetry Festival

 Bee Tree Folk School presents the annual Western Music and Cowboy Poetry Festival at the Bee Hive, 8 E. Idaho Street in Weiser. On Friday, Oct. 24 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. the entertainment will be free. Admission for Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. will be $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Jam session to follow. Come enjoy a wonderful and talented group of Western musicians and cowboy poets for your listening pleasure.

 Our loving Mother, Caroline “June” Rathbun, passed quietly into the arms of Jesus on the evening of Oct. 4, 2025, with family by her side. She was 89 years old.
 June, the eldest of three daughters, was born to Fay W. Sneed and Elma E. Jackson Sneed, on June 3, 1936, in Weiser, Idaho. 

Edwin ‘Ed’ August Dohrmann

 Edwin “Ed” August Dohrmann, 83, of Weiser, Idaho was born on Aug. 19, 1942 in Medford, Ore.  
 He passed away in Ontario, Ore. on Oct. 6, 2025.
 Ed was a beloved father and husband. He did so much for his community and family. 
 He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jackie Dohrmann.  
 He is survived by his immediate family and friends.  
 He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.  
 Family will announce at a later date when services will be held.  

Dorothy Marie McFarland Evans

 As they say in the mysteries I so loved to read, “If you’re reading this, I must be dead.”
 I being Dorothy Marie McFarland Evans, born in Bay City, Mich., on Jan. 18, 1950 and passed away in Weiser, Idaho on Oct. 16, 2025.  
 My parents were Russ and Peg McFarland and I had one older sister, Kathy.

Cowboy Music and Poetry Gathering has something for everyone

A mix of well-known local and regional performers will converge on Weiser Oct. 24 and 25 for what’s become an annual October event, the Cowboy Music and Poetry Gathering.
 The two days will feature a wonderful and talented mix of musicians, poets and story-tellers, all sharing their love of cowboy culture through verse, song, and storytelling.
 Organized in conjunction with the Cowboy Poets of Idaho, the festival will be held at The Bee Hive, located at 8 East Idaho Street.

Esther Cecelia (Servatius) Kyle

 Esther Cecelia (Servatius) Kyle, age 93, of Weiser, Idaho, entered eternal life with her heavenly Father on Oct. 12, 2025, with family at her side.
 Esther was born in Ontario, Ore. on April 9, 1932. She was the third child born of seven to Joseph and Rose Servatius.  

Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple bazaar and auction

 The Idaho-Oregon Buddhist Temple will have their bazaar and auction on Sunday, Oct. 19 starting at noon. The temple is located at 286 SE 4th St. in Ontario.There will be food, produce, sanctuary open house, bingo, and auction.
