Dismissals granted in Gentry Lane lawsuit

Board approves $185 for requested attorney fees

Two separate court orders granting the State of Idaho and Southwest District Health’s motions to dismiss a civil lawsuit filed in late March by Gentry Lane residents Tanya Moye, Terry Moye, and Judy Beery were added to the register of actions in the case on Thursday, Oct. 16.

Disc golfers eye Mortimer’s Island for use

Flying discs could soon descend on Mortimer’s Island thanks to a proposal from a Weiser High School student. 
 The Weiser City Council unanimously granted permission for Wolverine senior Max Lattin and other disc golfers to explore building a new course on city property currently used for the annual Mud Drag Race and not much else along the Weiser River.

 By the end of September, Weiser School District’s total enrollment numbers settled in at 1,433 students in grades Pre-K through 12, up from 1,408 this time a year ago.
 In Weiser’s four school buildings, 10 out of 14 grade levels showed a slight drop from the mid-August opening of the school year in the monthly administration reports presented during the Oct. 13 board of trustees meeting.

Growing up with four brothers and one sister, Brooklyn Jensen got a good dose of athletic competitiveness built into her upbringing from the very start.
 What she had never imagined for herself was taking up long-distance running. Now, the 2023 Weiser High School graduate is getting ready to run in the Nov. 2 New York Marathon as a member of Team CHM, a group of runners who participate in the TCS New York City Marathon to raise funds and awareness for choroideremia.

WEISER, Idaho – On October 21, 2025, at approximately 2:07 p.m., Weiser Police responded to a helicopter crash in a field adjacent to Weiser Airport (S87), located on Airport Road in Weiser, Idaho.

 The Friends of the Library and Four County Art Guild Holiday Arts and Crafts Show will be held Friday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vendome Events Center, 309 State St.

Shamrock Club Harvest Dinner to be held Nov. 2

 Shamrock Club’s annual Harvest Dinner is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be held at the historic Jeffreys Schoolhouse at 1818 Weiser River Road. All proceeds go toward maintaining the 117-year-old school building. Meals include roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls and homemade pies/dessert. Pies and desserts will also be for sale. Takeout is available. Cost is adults $16, kids 6 through 12, $8, 5 years and under are free.

Western Music and Cowboy Poetry Festival

Bee Tree Folk School presents the annual Western Music and Cowboy Poetry Festival at the Bee Hive, 8 E. Idaho Street in Weiser. On Friday, Oct. 24 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. the entertainment will be free. Admission for Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. will be $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Jam session to follow. Come enjoy a wonderful and talented group of Western musicians and cowboy poets for your listening pleasure.
